# What are the size limits on the bgremove transformation?

I’m trying to figure out what the max resolution and filesize is for the e-bgremove **(?tr=e-bgremove)** transformation but it’s not documented.

As test, an image of 18.8MB and a resolution of 3648x5472px (less then 20MP)

We only see the following error in the headers:  
**ELIMIT - The size of the input image to e-bgremove is too high. Reducing quality or resolution can help bring the size down. You can retry the request in 5 minutes.**

The **e-bgremove** transformation can process images up to **10 MB** in file size. The maximum supported Resolution is determined by your plan limits and is currently set to **100 MP**. Any image that exceeds either the image size or resolution limit will result in an ELIMIT error.
